Eventually, the rafts the knights escaped in reached the ships carrying the citizens home. Runic, Dairyk, and the rest of the guards on their rafts climbed onto the king's ship. The king greeted them, and asked for the condition of the island. "Even if you go back, you would not find it. It has been sunk." Replied a tearful Dairyk. "Even if it was above sea-level, you would not be able to rebuild it. It was bombed several times and the grounds were filled with salt, preventing growth of crops." Said Runic, seeming disturbed. "They plundered us, THEY PLUNDERED US!"
