Braidwood is first encountered at the end of Cold War, when Redford's squad brings him a piece of the Scalar Weapon that the Russians are building. He determines the piece to be a fake, saying he knew about it but needed more information. For this task, he recruits Bravo-Two Charlie into the Special Activities Division and sends them to relay information about the weapon to Agent Aguire in Bolivia.
