Bert Fox was the late husband of Mark Brittain Warehouse worker Ethel Fox. Ethel stayed in work after turning sixty as she wouldn't know what to do with herself if she retired, but in 1974 mandatory retirement at sixty was introduced and Ethel lost her job.
