The Catholic Church celebrates a number of different Liturgical Rites, a term that refers to a particular form of liturgy. They are not to be confused with the Rites in the sense of sui iuris particular Churches, of which there are 22 Eastern and one Western. Specific liturgical rites and uses are usually described in terms of the various Western (Latin) and Eastern (Greek, Syrian, Coptic etc.) traditions.
