In OTL, Brussels is the capital of Belgium, which is a somewhat uneasy confederation of Fleming and Walloon regions (and the imminent separation of which is regularly reported). It also serves as the centre of many of the organs of the European Union In this timeline, the division of Belgium into French-speaking Wallonia, the Dutch-speaking Flemish region, and the bilingual Brabant (in which Brussels lies). For historical reason,s some of the EU bodies are based in Brussels, while others are based in Moresnet.
