Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of the clove tree, an evergreen of the Myrtle family growing to 8–12 m tall. In Middle-Earth various members of the clove family were known including Oiolosse (Oiolassë, Say-arana or Uilas), Siran, Thurl, Nantarb and Nur-Oiolosse. These Cloves were native to the Southern Archipelago, the Jopi-Peninsula, Amazôn, Chyan and eastern Haradwaith.
