Fen Hollen, also known as the Steward's Door, was a door on the sixth level of the city/fortress of Minas Tirith. The Fen Hollen opened up to a walled winding pathway that led to the Rath Dínen (Silent Street) where the tombs of the Stewards and the Kings of Gondor were located. The door was always kept closed (hence its name, which meant "closed door"), was guarded by a porter, and usually was only opened during funerals. Only the Lord of the City and those who tended the houses of the dead were allowed to open the door.
