Lamra was a mate of Reatur's. She was extremely intelligent and mature for her age and, despite being uneducated, taught herself to read. She mated with Reatur and became gravid before the American space shuttle Athena landed in his domains. After learning of the shortness of Minervan mates' lives by witnessing the death of Biyal, Dr. Sarah Levitt proposed to attempt to save Lamra's life by binding up the blood vessels which would open when she dropped her buds. Reatur, who felt a special sentimental attachment to Lamra, gave his permission.
