Saxo-Silesia was established in 1996 when a cultural unity between the German province Saxony and Polish Voivodeship Silesia was promoted by the government of the Czech Republic in 1993, without the knowledge of either Poland or Germany. Two years after the Czech promotion, the people of both Saxony and Silesia contacted their respective governments and requested immediate recognition of an independent Saxo-Silesian state. This request dismissed at first, but the people of both Saxony and Silesia protested for the establishment of their state, and were able to reach the hearts of the other people of Europe.
