The defense system generator is a large device that controls the shields defending the Space Pirate Homeworld. Samus is tasked by Fleet Admiral Castor Dane to deactivate this device in order to allow the Federation Armada to invade the planet. This device is powered by nine energy cores in three separate parts. The generator is located in the Command Station. With all three destroyed, a Bomb Slot activated at the top of the shaft, near the terminal that Samus had previously used. A bomb was needed to finally deactivate the System, allowing the Galactic Federation ships to invade.
