The idiot son of a middling noble family, Rand was seen to be not much use to his family beyond possibly being married off. Unfortunately, he proved to not even be worth that much; upon hearing of his family’s plans for him, he decided to run away and find his own way in life. This lead him to Outreach where it was found that, while not the sharpest tool in the shed, Rand was actually a reasonably skilled mechwarrior and marksman. Currently, Rand is a member of Captain Silmaris’ Bravo company, providing fire support and AA defence for the unit.
