"Mad" Mel Angelstad (born October 31, 1971 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a former professional ice hockey player. He played two games in the NHL, both coming in the 2003–04 NHL Season with the Washington Capitals during which he became the first player to wear #69 in a regular season game. Throughout his career he was known as a feared enforcer, earning his nickname The Mangler. The nickname, however did not come from Mel's fighting, it came from his locker tag, M.Angelstad.
