The HMS Porta Coeli was a 18 gun brig that came under the command of Horatio Hornblower in 1814. Hornblower's mission to was negotiate with mutineers that had taken control of the HMS Flame off the coast of France. To do this, Hornblower disguised the Porta Coeli as the Flame, and followed a French blockade runner into port. He captured the blockade runner, and pursued the Flame. The French were confused by his ruse, and Hornblower captured the Flame.
