Three Army Pass is named after the battles that won the Nations of Illigyr their independence from the Xalar Empire. During a climatic battle between the Great Neck Empire and the Xalar Empire, the rebel Illigyr forces intruded, decisively turning the battle against Xalar. Even so, both Imperial armies fought hard, in possibly the greatest battle in Darelth's history; some historians estimate that each of the three armies lost over a fifth of their forces, and the Xalar Imperial Army may have lost as much as one-third. The Xalar Emperor and the Crown Prince of the Great Neck Empire were also slain.
