Suzume Manabu was a member of the Sparrow Clan. He was a member of the honor guard of his lord, the young Sparrow Clan Champion Suzume Ryosuke. In 1199 Ryosuke attempted to flee the Suzume Hills, to escape from the grip of those Spider who had infiltrated the Clan and effectively were ruling the Sparrow. His companion Suzume Hiroshi and his captain Suzume Yutaka were also infiltrators, and Manabu sacrificed himself in an attempt to aid Ryosuke.
