This is a list of sovereign states by carbon dioxide emissions due to human activity. Data were collected in 2004 by the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) for United Nations. The data considers only carbon dioxide emissions via the burning of fossil fuels, not by deforestation or other sources.
