The U.K. Creative Industries Task Force was established by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1997. Its primary roles were to raise awareness of the economic value of the industries, highlight the issues they faced, and to make recommendations for change. The creative industries included advertising, architecture, the art and antiques market, crafts, design, designer fashion, film and video, interactive software (computer/video games), music, performing arts, publishing, software and computer services, television and radio.
