Basically these shards of rock from mars were actually created long before mars came around, when our solar system was formed, most of the planets were fromed by meteors and asteroids colliding with each other, as their gravity increased, more and more asteroids were pulld in, the meteorites that hit earth are either peices from the first explosion or, they are shards broken of and put into orbit when mars was only classed as an asteroid.
