Nicol Williamson (14 September 1938 - 2011) was the actor who portrayed the Nome King in Disney's 1985 film Return to Oz. Williamson has had a long and distinguished career on the British stage and in films and television. He might be most widely known for his role as Merlin in the John Boorman film Excalibur (1981).
