Ward Huckman and Al McCowan ran the Lighthouse Shelter in Detriot, Michigan. It was when Father Callahan was working for him that the Low Men finally tracked him down. Ward believed that Richard Sayre was going to award the Lighthouse Shelter a million-dollar grant, but when Ward, Al and Callahan arrived, Ward and Al where knocked unconscious while Callahan jumped out a window to avoid Sayre's HIV infested vampires. It was then Callahan woke up in Mid-World.
