Physically, this ability likely functions similarily to Shield Mitigation, as both reduce damage taken by adapting the shield to it, but it also somehow counters the phase drives of Vasari phase missiles, possibly by aggressively changing the position of the shield "bubble", making it harder for missiles to predict.
