Yuan Shao arrives just as a battle between the Five Tiger Generals and Dong Zhuo ensues. Yuan Shao flies into rage when he meets Xiu/Liu Bei, the man who stole his bride and orders his army to kill everyone, except Sun Shang Xiang. Thankfully, a personal messenger arrives to stop the persecution. Meanwhile, Lu Bu finds out about his father's new plan of directly dethroning Liu Bian and tries to convince Guan Yu to join forces with him in dethroning Dong Zhuo. He refuses, however, and thus forces Lu Bu to tell him of their shortened lifespans. Guan Yu, worried that he would hurt his closest friends, attempts to relinquish his fighting skills, along with his demonized powers. Xiu arrives just in time to stop him with the Demon Subduing Cymbals, which he borrowed from Xia Liu.
