Orpheus Christopher Calhoun was an American journalist and politician who served as the 35th President of the United States between 1957 and 1965. During his Presidency, he oversaw such events as Fidel Castro's revolution in Cuba and the subsequent Missile Crisis; the launching of the Soviet satellite Sputnik 1; the peak of the Civil Rights movement including the March on Washington; the beginning of the "British Invasion"; and the early stage of the Vietnam War.
