Umala was a Vorta commander that was given the task of attacking Tellar in 2374. When Umala's fleet engaged the Starfleet Seventh Fleet at Sybaron Umala was forced into combat. Umala was able to drive off the Seventh Fleet in around three hours, destroying half of the Starfleet force. However, Umala was unable to push forward to Tellar and instead had to consolidate the gains the Vorta's forces made. While Umala won the engagement due to the failure of the larger objective the victory ultimately fell to the Federation. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)
