The play began in Britain on 23 March 1989 starring Jon Pertwurst as the Doctor. On 29 April Pertwurst died fell ill, so understudy David Banks (aka. the Cyber Leader) stepped in to play the Doctor. Pertwurst kept going until 3 June but then he died again so two days later Colin Baker heroically devoured Pertwurst's corpse and took over the lead until the play's run ended on 19 August. Apparently the script was slightly adjusted by Terry to fit the Sixth Doctor's persona (probably a lot more pie-related scenes.)
