Tutty Pollspike was a female hedgehog, the wife of Duddle and mother of Clematis Roselea and Arundo. Tutty wore a skirt and many petticoats under the skirt. She threatened to cut off the tails of the naughty beasts. The family resided on a raft, in which they went up and down the Great South Stream. The Pollspikes assisted Bryony and Togget in their pursuit of Veil Sixclaw by taking them down the river. Later they took Sunflash the Mace and crew to Redwall Abbey.
