The Play Dig Pit is a building in Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals that can be used by younger guests to uncover fossils for the Extinct Education Center. Guests that use the Play Dig Pit often find fossils, but sometimes they don't and uncover a "surprise" instead, according to Zoopedia. The surprises are trash and recyclables. After discovering fossils, guests will give them to the Extinct Education Center to mount skeletons. The coloration of the sands of the fossil pit resembles the coloration of the Scrub biome, while the bones appears to be dark-colored.
