The most basic defense on Mars. It's made out of substantial piles of Martian sand, set around the homestead or settlements. These large mounds help to break up the line of attack as an attacking player approaches the installation, as well as driving them into certain points of difficult access, making it harder for the attacker to reach the infrastructure, due to the difficulty of climbing Martian sand at any significant speed. Because it is a completely passive defense and non-powered, or adjustable in any way after installation, most of those concerned with their home defense quickly look to upgrade to the more versatile Barbed Wire.
