Jaris was one of the two sons of Nehemiah. His brother was Bartoc. In his youth, Jaris met Hercules after the hero accidentally killed Bartoc. As an adult, Jaris became a great advocate for justice and he worked to free his village of crime. When Celesta came to guide Jaris to the Underworld, Hercules convinced her to give him one last day to put his affairs in order. Jaris was married to a woman named Asper who died. Their son was named Bartoc II after Jaris' brother. It is not known how Jaris died but he was buried next to his brother. Asper's sister Rena adopted Bartoc II.
