Prenticecide is known as the act of killing either an accomplice or a witness to Murder in order to silence them -- or for sacrificial purposes (as shown in Dexter). Lyle Sussman was a witness to Oliver Saxon's murders (he even took part in them himself under coercion). However, Saxon killed Sussman for no apparent reason, except for sacrificial purposes (possibly). However, an opposite to this circumstance is that Dexter Morgan used Miguel Prado to kill Billy Fleeter and Dexter was a clear accomplice, and Miguel was also fully aware of Dexter's illicit activities, but Dexter chose not to kill him....only until he realized that Miguel went behind his back in order to kill an innocent.
