Mathal was a Khajiit and the brother of Kalari. Him and his uncle, Enak-do started running skooma for Rakhad, a local smuggler, in order to pay off their debts. One day, his uncle disappeared under mysterious circumstances and thus, him and his sister inherited his debts and his house. Mathal then began to receive threatening letters from Rakhad, stating that if he did not sell the property to him, Kalari would get hurt.
