The USS Challenger (NCC-2032) was a starship in the Federation Starfleet during the 23rd century. In 2293 it was conducting deep space exploration near Klingon space. It was to be part of the plan to recover Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy from Rura Penthe, Operation Retrieve.
