The calm painting is a painting that can be obtained in Wild World, City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is based on a painting by Viennese artist Georges Seurat, entitled A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. It was painted using divisionism, a method by which the artist uses dots of bright color to create different tones by the means of optical blending, and is one of the most well-known examples of its kind. A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte was painted from 1884 to 1886.
