The Council of Matrons was the ruling body of a Gamorrean clan. Gamorrean clans were controlled militarily by male boars called Warlords. The governance of the clan and all practical tasks were performed by the female sows. The most powerful sows were the matrons whose marriage bestowed the rank of Warlord on their husband. The Council of Matrons ruled the clan in all matters including the decision to go to war and was headed by the Clan Matron who was married to the Clan Warlord, General of the Clan army.
