Liam asked the girl out, and was turned down in a moment of painful awkwardness. Never one to get unnecessarily sooky about the decisions of others, Liam remained friendly towards her, although she was not only cold and dismissive with him after that, but she would often turn her back to him in group conversations, including the time when Liam helped interview her for a job at The Argosy. Eventually, he gave up on being civil and stopped talking to her, until nearly a year later, when she unaccountably struck up a very friendly conversation on a chance meeting.
