Gunnery Sergeant Goforth or Gunny Goforth was the Gunnery Sergeant on the Mars Base in the first of the Doom novels, 'Knee-Deep in the Dead'. He is from the South of the USA, though his exact state of residency is not exactly confirmed (he is said to have a "thick Georgian drawl" in Knee-Deep in the Dead, but Fly claims that he is from South Carolina in "Endgame") and is known for his crack-shot abilities with his sniper rifle.
