Upgraded versions of the Defender are used by the Liberty Navy patrols, particularly in the independent worlds. The upgraded Defenders may be armed with up to 5 class-6 weapons. The Nomad-infested Liberty forces from story mode are fitted with class-7 Nomad Prototypes.
