Darth Kess born Katton Reston, was a Pau'an Jedi Knight turned Sith Lord. Before the Great Jedi Purge, Reston was the eager Padawan learner of Jedi Master Plo Koon. But during the Outer Rim Sieges he was ordered by his master to stay back at the Jedi Temple to barricade the Temple in case of another repelling attack. Reston was present at Operation: Knightfall, where Katton engaged Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel before being shot in the back by a Clone and tossed aside, however Reston managed to survive.
