Cactus Flats is an enormous, hot, arid desert community located in Arizona. The Fox Family spends two weeks camping there in August 1992. Roger decided that it was a good idea to take his family to Cactus Flats for the fall, and everyone hated him for making that decision. An Indian tribe used to live at Cactus Flats before they all died from the heat. Scientists also did research at Cactus Flats before they quit from the heat. In fact, it was so hot that Jason's sneakers started to melt the moment they got out of the car.
