"Alabama" was the nickname of a Human Starfleet cadet from the state of Alabama in North America, an upperclassman at Starfleet Academy in 2255 in the alternate reality created by Nero. A tall, muscular man who enjoyed playing basketball, Alabama was one of many upperclassmen who bullied and teased Cadet Pavel Chekov, once mocking him by asking if he was the San Francisco Chronicle paperboy.
