TBS (Turner Broadcasting System), stylised in the logo as tbs, short for Turner Broadcasting Station, is an American cable televisionchannel owned by Time Warner that shows a variety of programming, with a focus on comedy. TBS was originally known as WTCG, a UHFterrestrial television station that broadcast from Atlanta, Georgia, during the late 1970s. WTCG reportedly stood for "watch this channelgrow" (although the "TCG" officially stood for Turner Communications Group, the forerunner to Turner Broadcasting System).
