After the fall of Nazi Germany in 1945, United States President Harry S. Truman would now have to consider what to do about Japan. Truman felt safer on not dropping the bomb in Japan, so Hiroshima and Nagasaki would not happen. With the support from the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of China; Operation Downfall (the land invasion of Japan) would take place on October 7, 1945. World War II would be prolonged and become a bloodier war than in OTL, as the invasion of Japan would take more lives than did D-Day just months earlier. Welcome to the world of a Divided Japan.
