William Joseph Dibdin (9 December 1850 - 9 June 1925) was an analytical chemist. Born in Somers Town, he was the son of Thomas Colman Dibdin, an illustrator and artist, and his wife ann Alice nee Jones. He was also involved in local politics, and was chairman of Sutton Urban District Council. In 1878 he married Marian Aglio, and they had a number of children. in his later years he lived in West Norwood, and he died there aged 74.
