General goods are basic items, usually needed for everyday survival, including basic drinks, food, and some basic profession or tradeskill tools. Vendors for these items can be found in just about every major city or village. Depending upon the specific vendor, they can sell a variety of items including food & drink, wood, bags, simple tools, and minor weapons. Prior to Patch 4.0.1, these vendors also sold ammunition. Ammunition was removed from the game after this patch.
