Synthetic diamonds were created by exiled Corellians from their dead using industrial-grade gravity generators. The body is first cremated then the carbon residue is compressed into diamonds. The diamonds are then brought to the Sanctuary and embedded into the black walls and ceiling to create a glittering series of constellations, as seen from Corellia.
