mapEd is a project under development by nornagon and bdonlan. It is a map editor similar to the CL Map Editor, written in C++ and SDL. It's still early stages yet, and pretty much all it can do is load a BLK file and scroll around it, and draw green rectangles with straight edges. The existing code can be viewed here.
