The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of crimes in the City of Los Angeles and the surrounding county. In each case they bring before a court, the Office represents "The People of the State of California". The D.A. is the highest officeholder in the jurisdiction's legal department and supervises a staff of Deputy District Attorneys, and possibly a staff of DA Investigators though the have not been mentioned as of yet.
