The US Mid-Atlantic Regional Contest, is also known as "MAR". MAR first took place in 2000, making it one of the US Regional contests that took place before the creation of the US National Yo-Yo League. Now a part of the NYYL, MAR is hosted each year by Mitchell's Trains, Toys & Hobbies in Wilmington, Delaware. After taking place at Aldersgate United Methodist Church since the advent of the contest, the 2006 MAR took place at Kahunaville - a themed restaurant in Wilmington's waterfront section.
