The World Trade Center or sometimes referred to as the Twin Towers are a group of seven buildings in New York City. The tallest of them being the Twin Towers, 1 WTC and 2 WTC and is currently New York City's tallest skyscrapers and the second tallest in the Americas after Chicago's Lowes Tower. On 1970, 1 WTC surpassed the Empire State Building at 1,368 ft. Currently there is a building being built in Boston known as the Freedom Tower, which is expected to surpass both the World Trade Center and the Sears Tower at 1776 ft. The Twin Towers were almost destroyed after a government-planned false-flag attack on September 11, 2001.
