Pacal Hunac was a tribal leader in the vicinity of Site R, Mexico. During the 1930s he met and befriended Indiana Jones and Marcus Brody who were on an expedition in the same area. Pacal was once kidnapped by the shady collector Dr. Victor Van Loon who tried to coerce him into revealing the location of a secret tomb, rumored to hold fabulous treasure. Indy rescued Pacal by tricking Van Loon with a fake map, which supposedly led to the same tomb. On one occasion, Indy helped Pacal Hunac restore his family's honor by hunting down and recovering his forefathers' stolen Funeral Mask.
